Resolution Health Support Worker / MMIWG Coordinator
Barbie Whiskeyjack is a Dakelh Woman from Saikuz First Nations; she sits with the Grouse Clan; her traditional name is Sumyaz which means Little Star in the Carrier language. She has been a traditional dancer and singer since she was five. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree. She was raised by her late grandmother Celena John who inspired her to further her education to assist First Nations people in healing the effects of residential school. Barbie has always been involved in their healing journey in her community and other First Nation communities within Alberta and British Columbia. She proudly works for the Indian Residential School Survivors Society as an MMIWG Coordinator.

Barbie was raised by the late Celena John, who encouraged her to further her education to assist First Nations people in their healing journey; she received a degree from The University of Northern British Columbia in Social Work.
Barbie is actively involved in her community and gained support from other First Nation communities within Alberta and British Columbia in their healing journey. She is married and proud to share that they have three daughters and four grandchildren, with one on the way.
