My traditional name is Mootha7. My English name is Barb Morin.
At the Indian Residential School Survivors Society, I am currently the Director, People and Policy.
Our organization is moving and growing rapidly, and our services and programs are expanding its program areas to meet the needs of our service First Nation communities throughout the province.
I am a Secwepemc lawyer, with dedicated years of service to my community in various capacities from volunteering, advising, leading, and managing in the education, law, governance, and non-profit sector at the local, provincial and nationwide levels. I apply my personal, and professional expertise to causes that I am compassionate about and advocate for vital services that bring value to my community, our people or specific cause.
I value family, my culture and our connection to our community with community involvement. I am an intergenerational survivor! Both of my parents attended St. Joseph Indian Residential school near Williams Lake, British Columbia. I was born and raised in Williams Lake.
