Development Coordinator

Ha7lh Skwáyel (Hello) 

My name is April, and I am from Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw here in Metro Vancouver! 

I am the Development Coordinator here at IRSSS. This involves providing support to and maintaining our relationships with our generous donors.  

Before joining the team at IRSSS, I had been working in an administrative role for over 7 years with my most recent experience having been working with the Squamish Nation for the in their Ayás Mén̓men (Child & Family Services) department. 

In this role, I helped support families in the community with children ages 0-6 reach out for the supports they needed in order to attend proactive prevention and education programs available. Working within my community was not only a rewarding experience, but also an educational one. 

I moved from Vancouver Island in July 2022, so in my free time I like to go explore the city with my friends and enjoy the beautiful nature that surrounds it. Recently I’ve been playing beach volleyball, tennis, and overall enjoying my new surroundings in my home territory. 

I look forward to growing and learning in this new role!
